The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose above the flat line, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) climbed 1.1%. The S&P 500 (^GSPC) gained 0.6% as semiconductor stocks gained.
AI stocks continued to benefit from revived enthusiasm after Anthropic's (ANTH.PVT) IPO investor prospectus, which the company filed publicly on Monday, highlighted the promise — and risks — of artificial intelligence. In Asia, the resurgent AI trade helped lift South Korean chip stocks and the KOSPI (^KS11) index.
Another catalyst for tech investors arrives Wednesday, when Alphabet (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT) report their third quarter results. In the meantime, on Tuesday, investors digested better-than-expected earnings from Coca-Cola (KO) and fintech SoFi Technologies Inc. (SOFI).
Anticipation also continues to build ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on Wednesday. Policymakers began their two-day meeting on Tuesday to discuss whether hotter-than-expected inflation warrants a rate hike. Investors aren't convinced the Fed will move, pricing in just 10% odds of a hike, per CME Group.

Shares for JetBlue soar as demand remains 'resilient,' despite Q3 loss
Shares for JetBlue (JBLU) are soaring Tuesday. Yahoo Finance's Pras Subramanian reports:
JetBlue (JBLU) reported a wider-than-expected third-quarter loss on Monday and cut its full-year margin outlook, but the stock jumped as demand remained strong.
The airline now expects an adjusted operating margin of (4.5)% to (6.5)% for 2026. That's worse than its previous forecast of (2)% to (5)%, and the midpoint (5.8)% missed analysts' expectations.
But JetBlue shares still rose in early trading on Tuesday after the airline said demand remains strong and has carried into the fourth quarter.
"Resilient demand and strong yields drove revenue well ahead of our initial expectations, allowing us to recapture more of the increase in fuel costs than we initially expected," CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a statement.
