Peskov did not rule out a phone call between Putin and Trump today
Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an international phone call today “early in the afternoon,” according to presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“We will provide all the details in due course,” Mr. Peskov said in response to a question about whether the call would be with U.S. President Donald Trump. In addition, according to Dmitry Peskov, the president is scheduled to meet with Vitaly Korolev, the acting governor of the Tver Region.
On September 5, U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, held talks with Vladimir Putin. The next day, the negotiators visited Kyiv. On September 7, Dmitry Peskov did not rule out a phone call between the Russian and U.S. presidents. He promised to provide timely information “when this call will take place and if it takes place.”
